Assistant Quantity Surveyor

As our business goes from strength to strength, we’re on the lookout for a skilled individual to join our team as a Quantity Surveyor.

Job Summary

As the Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will assist the site team to manage the building project in accordance with agreed timescales, quality, and cost. You will develop excellent relationships with customers and assist in managing the supply chain, subcontractors and staff.

Daily Responsibility

  • To assist the project manager with pre-start planning and programming.
  • Subcontract procurement and commercial management
  • Management and control of sub-contract accounts and variation accounts.
  • Assisting and liaising with the buyers on materials procurement and buying opportunities.
  • To manage the day-to-day cost control, monitoring and reporting.
  • Develop an understanding of the designated contract, specification and pricing ensuring compliance with conditions throughout.
  • Assist the project manager with subcontractor selection and ensure the chosen subcontractor has the appropriate skill set and capability to deliver the works.
  • Measure progress, submit valuations, submit final accounts and retention release, and monitor receipt of payment in a timely manner.
  • Process subcontractor requests for payment.
  • Complete monthly cost / valuation report and cash flow for the designated projects.
