Job Summary
The main purpose of this role is to ensure, in conjunction with the Head of SHE and RE:GEN Group senior management, that adequate arrangements are made within each group provision for the effective implementation and operation of ISO standards and systems.
The Manager will also ensure that all resources either internal or outsourced are used effectively to support the business and will understand, adhere to and implement the company SHE policy/strategy, ensuring consistency across the Group.
Daily Responsibility
- Ensure equal SHEQ support is provided across RE:GEN Group.
- Provide support and guidance to the Group on technical, legal and other issues as required.
- Proactively work with operational teams during the project lifecycle to ensure that SHEQ is considered at all stages and that relevant control measures are identified/implemented and standardisation is achieved.
- Assist the business with the achievement and implementation of the ISO standards and systems.
- Undertake ‘active’ monitoring and auditing of the RE:GEN Group sites, providing feedback via the company’s reporting system.
- Manage incidents and the coordination of detailed factual reports identifying root causes and recommendations for improvement.
- Manage responses to insurance claims relating incidents within the Group.
- Liaise with the HSE, the Environment Agency, insurers, and other bodies in the event of a major incident or as required.
- Produce trend analysis.
- Work closely with clients.
- Liaise with the individual subsidiary directors on the development and implementation of local strategies for improvements
- Any other reasonable management request.
Essential Skills
- NEBOSH Diploma in H&S Management or equivalent.
- Environmental Qualification and knowledge.
- Recognised Temporary Works Certificate accredited to CITB.
- Knowledge of construction and CDM.
- Minimum 5 years previous experience on medium/large construction and refurbishment sites.
- Specialist knowledge in a relevant subject area, e.g., asbestos, scaffolding, fire and gas safety.
- Good and development relationships with operational safety leadership.
- First rate communication and influencing skills.
- Flexible – able to work at all levels and at hands on level.
