STRONGER TOGETHER: RE:GEN & GEON!

RE:GEN Group, a leading regeneration specialist announces partnership with local training solutions provider Geon in pursuit of combatting record levels of unemployment and major skills shortages for the North East Construction sector.

Sharing a passion for supporting young people, this alliance sees RE:GEN Group become one of Geon’s trusted employer partners who will endorse their efforts with the latest trainsheeship opportunity, the BUILD UP construction programme, and facilitate the recruitment of successful candidates.

Paul Flannigan CSR Director said:

“With the launch of our own RE:GEN Academy earlier this year, we are acutely aware of the importance of nurturing individuals, rather than honing in too much on particular skill sets and trades. Geon share this view of putting young people at the heart, allowing them to grow in a flexible and open environment so it was a no brainer to team up with the guys and support them in their efforts with the BUILD UP construction programme. The BUILD UP works as the perfect gateway to the RE:GEN Academy, creating a seamless journey for young candidates to follow as they explore the many career opportunities available with us.”

Nadia Scott, Managing Director at Geon Training Solutions comments:

“What we loved about RE:GEN was that like us, they are passionate about supporting people for the long term. Too often we see young people taken advantage of by employers who will only ‘use them’ for a short period of time as cheap labour before letting them go. For this reason, selecting employer partners is not something taken lightly at Geon so we were delighted to engage with RE:GEN Group as they demonstrate a genuine desire to employ some of our successful BUILD UP candidates on a permanent basis. They’ll certainly have their work cut out as we have had over 46 candidates sign up to the programme already!”

Lee Francis, CEO at RE:GEN Group adds:

“By working with Nadia and the team, we recognise that we can be stronger together in our joint mission to combat unemployment in the local region and tackle major skills shortages. We are proud to see a local training provider like Geon pioneer a programme of this calibre, which no other training provider in the region is currently delivering. This is only the beginning.”
