The be:ONE partnership, an innovative collaboration launched in April 2024 by believe housing, has been recognised with the Delivering Value Award at the Constructing Excellence North East Awards 2025.
The win celebrates the partnership’s unique approach to driving efficiency by collaboration in the built environment sector.Led by believe housing, be:ONE brings together RE:GEN North East as the main contractor and three SME delivery partners, Buston & Maughan Group, Sendrig Construction, and Sunter Limited in a ground breaking model that breaks down traditional barriers within the construction industry.
With a total value of £62.4 million, the four-year programme will see significant improvements made to approximately 5,600 homes. Works focus on enhancing energy efficiency, reducing carbon emissions, and cutting resident energy bills, while also delivering essential home upgrades such as kitchens, bathrooms, roofing, and full electrical rewiring.

This collaborative approach not only drives down costs but also enhances customer service, delivery and uplifts the construction industry through sharing resource. Since its launch, the partnership has already:
- Achieved 98% customer satisfaction.
- Created nine apprenticeships.
- Ensured 84% of its workforce is from the local area.
- Delivered community investment initiatives worth £130k, including the transformation of two unused rooms at Hartlepool College into cutting-edge workshops for student learning.
