Magenta Living has celebrated the volunteers, neighbours and community organisations who go above and beyond to support people across its neighbourhoods at the inaugural Communities Full of Life Awards 2026.
We were proud to sponsor the awards, bringing together nominees, community partners and guests to recognise outstanding contributions to local life.
The Communities Full of Life Awards were created to celebrate individuals who go above and beyond to make a positive difference in their communities. The six categories recognise contributions to supporting children and families, being a good neighbour, tackling loneliness and isolation, health and wellbeing, and long service.
One of the most powerful stories came from Great Neighbour Award winner Edna Lewis, who showed extraordinary compassion when she heard a neighbour crying for help in the early hours. After discovering that he had fallen from bed and fractured his spine, she stayed with him until an ambulance arrived and continued to support him with regular hospital visits throughout his recovery. In Edna’s award nomination she was described as “kind, compassionate and thoughtful” and the gentleman “believes he wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for her kindness and support.”
RE:GEN North West colleagues had the pleasure of being part of the judging panel and presenting the Supporting Food Projects Award – a particularly important recognition of those working to ensure people in communities have access to the support they need.
Adam Woodcock, Senior Community Regeneration Officer at Magenta Living, said: “The event was a wonderful celebration of the care, generosity and commitment that make our communities so special. It has also given us the opportunity to recognise some of the unsung heroes who make a real difference every day. We are privileged to work alongside so many inspiring individuals, community organisations and charities dedicated to supporting people across our neighbourhoods.”
Chris Murphy, Regional Operations Director, RE:GEN North West, said: “Our partnership with Magenta Living is about more than improving homes – it’s about making a positive, lasting difference to the communities we work in. We’re proud to be investing in warmer, more energy-efficient homes across the Wirral, but just as important is supporting the people and organisations who make these neighbourhoods such special places to live. The Communities Full of Life Awards were a fantastic way to recognise those who give so much to others, and we’re proud to play a part in celebrating them.”
