Doing our bit for Social Value – Proud finalists of the GO awards

We are delighted to announce that through our partnership with believe housing (tag), they have been recognised as proud finalists in this year’s GO Awards.

The shortlisting is for the ‘Social Value – Other Organisations’ category and is a result of our combined social value efforts, delivered to the local communities we’ve been working in.

At RE:GEN, our passion for social value goes far beyond just our contractual obligations. That’s why we agreed to deliver additional social value to our communities on top of the 15-month garage refurbishment programme contract that we had already been awarded.

By working together with internal stakeholders within the neighbourhoods and believe’s asset team, we placed a series of ‘community skips’ in New Brancepeth to help tenants who had found it difficult to dispose of waste due to Covid restrictions. Tenants were able to dispose of anything from toys to sofas, dining sets and various electrical items. The close work with believe’s customers also enabled us to assist one tenant in the tidying and clearing of her garden, removing more than 12 rubble sacks of waste in the process.

To support the scheme, we proudly employed six local direct FTE employees for the duration of the contract and an apprentice, along with contributing 100 hours of volunteering.

As a result of our combined efforts, we achieved a Social Value of approximately 26% against the overall contract value.

Our partnership with believe on this initiative demonstrated that by aligning our values to support those affected by Covid, we could make a real difference the lives and communities around us.
