Gateshead-based regeneration specialist RE:GEN Group has been appointed to deliver a major investment programme to properties throughout Morpeth, Widdrington & Chester-le-Street in the North East of England.
Karbon Homes has awarded the £3.4m contract, focussing on modernising and improving 364 houses and bungalows spanning both Northumberland and County Durham regions. Customers will benefit from the large-scale works including structural repairs to homes, as well as improvements to roofing, fencing and boundary land.
Brinsley Sheridan, Partnership Director at RE:GEN comments:
“We are delighted to have been awarded this contract by Karbon. Alongside our passion to improve the lives of the local people through the works, our commitment to the bid will also see the creation of several full-time jobs and long-term apprenticeship placements. This comes at the perfect time to align with the launch of our RE:GEN Academy where we will be developing and nurturing emerging talent to grow with us as business and build long lasting and prosperous careers in the construction sector.”
David Milburn, Head of Investment at Karbon Homes adds:
“We are pleased to be partnering with RE:GEN to deliver this major investment programme to homes and neighbourhoods across County Durham and Northumberland. RE:GEN has already successfully delivered a similar programme and we are really pleased with the quality of work. The feedback from our customers has been very positive. As part of the contract, which was procured through Prosper, RE:GEN are committed to creating employment opportunities for our customers, which we fully support”.
The structural updates are already underway, following project commencement in June and are expected to be completed by the end of March 2022.
