Celebrating Excellence: RE:GEN Group Nominated for three CENE Awards

CENE award success for RE:GEN Group!

As the Constructing Excellence in the North East (CENE) Awards gears up for its nineteenth annual ceremony, RE:GEN Group are thrilled to announce our nominations for two of the categories: the People and Culture Award and the Regeneration and Retrofit Award. This recognition is a testament to our unwavering dedication to driving innovation and delivering value in the built environment of the North East.

The CENE Awards serve as a celebration of everything the North East built environment has to be proud of, honouring exceptional projects and organisations that exemplify excellence in various categories, including Innovation, Integration and Collaborative Working and Delivering Excellence.

Our first nominated project for the Regeneration and Retrofit nomination award is The Brooms, where we partnered with Karbon Homes to revitalise a tired housing estate, breathing new life into the community while implementing energy-saving measures to benefit residents. EPC ratings improved from E/D to B, the works helped reduce residents heating bills by almost a quarter (23%) and we delivered on time, within original SHDF targets as set by UK Government.

The second nominated project for the Regeneration and Retrofit category was for Whinfell in partnership with Gentoo Group. There were a number of properties with poor EPC ratings. Our team worked to provide upgraded windows, doors, external wall insulation, flat roof insulation, and implementing a whole-house ventilation strategy to significantly reduce heat demand levels in each property. As a result of these efforts, the average heat demand per property was dramatically reduced. The project had 100% customer satisfaction, underscoring the positive impact and success of this transformative initiative and reminding us of why we do what we do.

At RE:GEN Group, we stand as a prime example of the transformative power of prioritising people and fostering a vibrant organisational culture. Our successes in all our projects is deep rooted in our commitment to our people and culture, which ties into our third award nomination – People and Culture.

Since our inception, we have purposefully cultivated an environment where meaningful relationships flourish, aligning closely with our core values. By investing in our employees, we not only strengthen our internal talent pool but also position ourselves as industry leaders capable of adapting to the evolving demands of the sector.

As we await the results of the CENE Awards, we remain committed to driving excellence and making a positive impact in the North East built environment and beyond.

Good luck everyone!
